A little care, a little patience

Keep your little world happy.

Start with the plants in your particular piece. These are general pointers; Kim can help you work out what your arrangement needs.

01 / Light

Bright, gently.

Choose good light without baking the glass in hot, direct sun. Keep your terrarium away from heaters.

02 / Water

Look before you pour.

Check the planting mix and moisture first. An enclosed vessel needs much less water than an open arrangement.

03 / Attention

Make time to notice.

Remove dead leaves promptly and watch for changes. A quick check is more useful than a fixed watering schedule.

Succulent terrariums

Light, watering & advice

Let the planting mix dry between careful waterings. Keep the vessel open and avoid water collecting at the bottom.

Water-storing plants need airflow and a chance to dry. Do not add a lid; ask Kim about the light and watering needs of the specific plants in your arrangement.

Open terrariums

Light, watering & advice

Check the planting mix regularly. Water needs depend on the plants and vessel; ask Kim for guidance for your particular piece.

An open vessel loses moisture more readily than a closed one. The plant mix matters, so confirm its care needs rather than following succulent instructions automatically.

Closed terrariums

Light, watering & advice

Watch the moisture and condensation before adding water. Keep out of direct sun; briefly vent the lid if condensation stays heavy.

A little condensation can be normal. If the glass stays heavily fogged, open the lid briefly and check that the planting mix is not saturated.
